Arx is a highly intelligent mechanical prodigy with a history of clever criminal activities. He was an ultra-smart geek, a childhood whiz-kid. Graduating from Oxford University at 16 years old with a degree in Biomechanics, Arx further developed his fighting and mechanical fabrication skills by competing in the Ultimate Robotic Warrior competitions of the late 2030’s.
Arx has often been involved in criminal activities, starting in his youth when he perfected a way to add funds to his various bank accounts with fabricated deposits.  While at university he enjoyed occasionally working as a cat burglar and jewel thief, an activity that involved two of his passions; dangerous physical acrobatics and bypassing complex digital security systems.  Arx’s best friend is Jimmy Argentine, a friend from his university days, who is currently serving a prison sentence for fraud.
Arx is now a fighter who uses a special, self-built Transformer-style exo-suit he calls Xavier to turn himself into a terror on the battlefield. Arx is highly irreverent and feels a kinship with the outlaw gun manufacturer Bobby Jack, from whom he often acquires his weapons.  He buys Zhang weapons as well because he appreciates their no-frills equipment.

The young geek has now grown into a handsome young man.  Arx is generally sociable and unusually friendly for a career criminal. He is a practical joker, playful, irreverent, and an effective ladies man. He knows way more than he lets on about salesmanship and manipulating people and has a minor in Psychology to accompany his major in Biomechanics. He easily applies that knowledge to social situations.
Arx loves cats and dogs, and although he no longer has either, he always carries animal treats in his back pocket. There have been annoying incidents of him exiting Xavier in the middle of the mission, just to feed a stray cat.

 Sometimes, when given the opportunity to be on his own, with no likelihood that anybody will be looking for him, Arx indulges himself by going to college bars and using his charm and intelligence to make young coeds laugh, and to enjoy romantic interludes.  When Arx wants to look his best he wears the pair of cowboy boots he got on a visit to Texas during his university years.

  • Arx is an inveterate experimenter.  There is nothing he likes more than tinkering with his inventions.  So, it was almost to be expected that he would experiment with a larger version of his unusual battle outfit.

    His normal backpack-contained combat shell is about seven feet tall.  The larger version he created was a 22 foot tall monster, more than three times as big. As expected, the new huge combat shell was awesome in combat.  Very few opponents could stand up against the firepower and tough defense of the giant behemoth.

    But, Arx could no longer carry the combat shell on his back, and he had to suit up before each battle. There were a number of other problems as well.  First of all, just getting on board the transport aircraft was always difficult.  And he could not use the larger combat shell in the restricted areas like the mines and the London underground, or any building interior situations like the museum, and the penthouse.

    Peeing was also particularly problematic, as it took twenty minutes to get in and out of the larger gear.  And he even missed a mission once when he got stuck inside one of the UltraHorse Towers elevators for two hours. In the end, Arx considered using the enormous combat shell for armored vehicle attack missions, but finally decided to discard the idea and stick with his smaller and considerably more mobile combat shell for all Squad Blast missions.
