valkyrie
Henriette “Valkyrie” Enginndóttir is of Icelandic origin and overall a fearsome person. There is no man or woman in the UH Towers who will cross her more than once.
Raised by her single mother, she never knew her father and that sometimes influences her view about men in general. Since in Iceland the surname is formed from father’s name, her mother simply called her “Enginndóttir” or “Nobody’s Daughter”.
Since she was little, she always wanted to fly but since Iceland has no airforce, it was kind of a problem. That is the only reason she relocated to Norway and joined the Royal Norwegian Air Force.
Multiple combat missions later she has become one of the most experienced pilots and known as a person who keeps her cool in difficult situations.
After the US military started the Scale Down Initiative, winding down its military due to lack of funding, NATO also started to crumble and Henriette found herself in the mercenary talent pool. However, she dislikes fighting only for money and joined UltraHorse shortly thereafter.
Valkyrie is a loud presence in the UH compound. Her booming voice can be heard from afar and she never hesitates saying out loud what’s on her mind. Even Hantu is wary of her. There is a talk it’s because Hantu dared to insult her during a mission and Henriette picked up everyone except for him, leaving Hantu in enemy territory for 24 hours, hiding and evading the enemies. 24 hours later Valkyrie made a daring re-entry into the contested territory and picked up the sulking fighter. Henriette is extremely protective of her aircraft, sometimes even making gang members to clean up their boots before they embark before missions. No one dares to disobey her. After all, no one wants to spend a day alone in enemy territory.
oliver
Oliver is the only journalist who is allowed to report from the UltraHorse Towers location. He was born in Moscow to British parents who were working at the UK consulate, where Oliver spent his time playing games on his computer and studying English.
A few years later his school grades were sufficient to earn a scholarship in London, where he subsequently lived for many years. After graduation, Oliver began working for the London office of the European News Agency, first as a copy and content editor, and finally as a field reporter.
In the following years, Oliver was assigned to numerous hot spots around the world, including Brazil, the United States, Serbia, Kenya, Egypt, and the Bahamas. Three years ago Oliver officially left the ENA and became an independent correspondent, choosing his own assignments and working for a variety of news agencies.
Once the UltraHorse Towers compound was conquered by the assortment of social gangs and other interested parties, Oliver asked UltraHorse to be allowed to report from their headquarters, his request was accepted, and Oliver moved to the compound and set up his own office and travel facilities there.
Although Oliver generally refrains from seeking out new friends in the UltraHorse Towers complex, he has many connections, friends, and sources all over the world. He has interviewed klepto-princes, sat in foxholes with marines, walked the red carpet with celebrities, and stood in food-lines with the hungry masses who clog the staggering cities.
On camera, Oliver delivers a calm no-bullshit attitude with occasional doses of humor that audiences find both truthful and comfortable. His we-are-all-in-this-together feeling makes people open up to him, and he generally has little trouble getting his interview subjects to offer surprisingly emotional testimony. Oliver gets along reasonably well with all the gangs, yet always keeps an emotional distance. He uses one of the large apartments in the UltraHorse Towers as a broadcast studio. He also has a camp near the airfield where he lives in a tent.
